Why Zenbild exists
Zenbild started with a house.
When our co-founder Joaquim set out to build his own home, he expected the hard part to be the building. Instead, the money and the months disappeared somewhere else: rework from a detail nobody confirmed in writing, decisions made on site without the owners ever signing off, a budget that crept past the plan, and no way to know the real status of the job without driving out to the jobsite to see it with his own eyes.
He had spent his career building digital products used by millions of people. And yet the thing that was actually building his house ran on text messages, memory, and guesswork. Construction, one of the oldest and largest industries in the world, had been left behind. That was the moment the idea for Zenbild took shape: it was time to fix it.
Small general contractors do world-class work in the field and then lose their margin to the parts that have nothing to do with building. The change order that never got approved in writing. The RFI buried in a text thread. The subcontractor who showed up on the wrong day because the schedule lived in one person's head. The daily log written from memory at 9pm. The software built for this industry was made for the big firms, priced for the big firms, and takes a full-time admin to run. So most small contractors gave up on it and went back to their phones.
We think the people who build deserve tools that fit how they actually work, so the office runs itself and the owner can get back on the jobsite.

Bruno Schmidt
Co-founder & CTO
Bruno led software engineering teams at Banco do Brasil for over a decade, where he worked alongside Joaquim. He went on to lead engineering at Banco ABC and served as CTO at Sideup. When Joaquim shared the problem and the idea, Bruno didn't hesitate: after years on separate projects, it was time to build together again, this time to solve a massive problem at global scale.
Joaquim Venancio
Co-founder & CEO
Joaquim spent years leading digital product development at Banco do Brasil, including the most-used mobile banking app in Latin America. He then founded Nok Nox, a proptech acquired by QuintoAndar, and served three years as a product director at QuintoAndar, the largest proptech in Latin America. He started Zenbild after living the problem firsthand while building his own home.
